"...And Give Us Our Daily Laugh"

No, I'm not especially joyful, but I'm definitely not sad :). It's kind of weird, but I just started thinking about the therapy of laughter.  No I haven't read a lot of books on this, but I know that sometimes when challenges come, laughter has been a faithful friend and besides it's free and can be induced legally anywhere and at anytime.  It's sounds medical doesn't it? Induced, administered, injected... (hahaha) well those are the best terms I can think of right now, sorry! Anyway you get the picture.  Laughter has been one of my best friends even when there's nothing to laugh about, and most of the time what seems to be serious at the time may not really be so serious. Humor and laughter are different so, being humored doesn't carry the same quality or have the same impact.  Where's laughter on you're itinerary this month? Bet you didn't think of it that way, huh?  Yeah, well... try it.  Once a month book a date with laughter, yeah it can be anywhere you so choose, at anytime, in any city you two decide to meet.  Laughter is really innocent in it's essence, so you'll be in for a good time.  Remember to keep it lighthearted and you'll enjoy it's company.  Laughter has no other intention other than to make you feel good, encourage you, inspire you and help you overcome anything in life.
I was listening to the radio last week and there was a program on PBS that even hosted a documentary on laughter at death. I was like, "what?" ...this is sick, but the more I understood what the documentary was talking about the more I realized how true it was. Just an example.  There's just something so funny about a lot of things around us, in our houses or places of abode; in our quiet times and when there are gobs of people around us.  There's something funny about what happened to you yesterday, or last week, or last month, or last year, or with a loved one or in the midst of a congregation of folks.  There's just something funny about life, and how the brain works, and how God sees us, and how we see ourselves and how others see us, and why certain things matter and others don't. There's just something funny about laughter, and hilarious about the things that it uncontrollably does to us.  There's something quite unique, and pleasurable, yet inviting, and contagious that causes others around us to give in to the power of laughter.  There's just something funny about all of the blogs that I've written (and the ones you haven't read yet, right?) ...yeah, -something so simple, invigorating, and so powerfully intoxicating.
This is one natural drug that has medicinal properties that extend life, understanding, and give health to the bones.  So..., give me my daily laugh, and laugh with those around you as you forgive those who don't laugh with you.  :)

Remembering...

Nodar Kumaritashvili.  It is with great respect and honor that we take this moment to remember a great lugar.  It is so wonderful for the great Dr.Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee to take such an important moment in this beginning of the winter olympics to recognize this young olympian at the beginning of these very important world winter games.

Note: It is sad that video footage of this tragic death of this wonderful young olympian was released so soon.  There should have been more sensitivity and discretion given in respect of this young life.  I do agree that freedom of expression is a great freedom, but more more care should be and exercised from this day forward regarding "any" life within these world wide sports and those sports that are not apart of this world-recognized celebration of events.  Common sense, regard of life and family should be the first enforced by government and authority of those given stewardship of any major business within the professional sport arenas. This is my personal and sincere expression, hopefully this will be honored and spoken from the lips of those with whom have greater influence than this personal blog.

Perseverance

It's the second month of the new year and I've already faced the challenge of perseverance.  Wounded a bit from a recent stack of words thrown at me without concern from a employing lead, yet I bounced back with resilience to understand who I am, and not be pushed to give up because of a mere stack of words.  Yes, words -damaging or embarrassing words do hurt, but perseverance through to the other side of those words is but a mere step up away from the temporary source from which I was targeted in the frustration of that person's immediate discomfort.  I shouldn't have been the target of their frustration, yet the shock if felt to fluently communicate (maybe as they thought, or with what they wanted to hear) after their initial reaction to a remote task that wasn't resolved, may me a target of their frustration. For a moment I felt stupid, but I knew what the complexity of the task was, they had no clue.  Nevertheless, I completed the task hours with reception of "thanks" from the persons that had patience with me to find the resolve. A more pressing task apart from the remote one, is still not complete, even as of this hour, but I persist, to succeed.  The task is minor to me because of my knowledge of the skill and the small technicality that it poses from the essence of it's origin, which is far greater and adeptly, finely and meticulously engineered.  My task is to make the project that I'm indirectly leading, work for the technical community within which I have been trusted to provide for first and then for the project completed to be properly tested, approved by the managing counsel and then deployed with confidence that the task has been detailed, secured and given the highest technical approval from those who out tenure me in age, wisdom in dealing with the community and with the best professionally-technical edge form a seriously recognized educating entity among the leading within our country.  Educated, moral, sound in thought, moving for better economics, building a business with reputable track record, yet flawed in a developing character of courage amongst those who misunderstand and only have a surface view of the true nature of your potential.  Yet the determination to continue to succeed, educate and push forward there's a moment of self-disgust, wishing for a better grasp academically, socially, but never giving in to the status-quo and yet building strength in personal character with as much integrity as possible. Perseverance is the key for excelling through the most difficult of self-limitations, for we are our own worst critics and judges of our own inadequacies in comparison to others and their gifts, which make them unique. Remembering that I too am unique, fearfully and wonderfully made by the hands of God, crafted and gifted to do only what He knew from the foundations of of the world that only we as men and women could do. Our gift of personality and mentoring from those who reared us, loved us, from those we learned from, were mentored by and educated by. Class, race, ethnicity, affluence and lack thereof have pushed each of us, made us persevere, fail, get-up, dust-off and try again. We persevere, I persevere we embrace the reality of persevering through obstacles, difficulties, challenges, personal limitations and fears and press through to reach our goals, fulfill aspirations, encourage others (in the right manner and with the right mindset) to persevere.
